While there are plenty of young musicians (Brazilian and otherwise) combining the breezy sounds of samba and bossa nova with electronic beats, the fertile grounds of the South American nation’s later movements like Tropicalia and ’70s samba funk have remained relatively untapped outside of such notable American artists as David Byrne, Devendra Banhart and Beck.
