WASHINGTON, D.C.–Is Obamanomics Rubinomics redux?
It might seem so. President-elect Barack Obama tapped two protégés of former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin for top jobs in his White House: New York Federal Reserve President Timothy Geithner as Treasury secretary and former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers as director of the National Economic Council. Like their mentor, both are Wall Street friendly and moderate on economic issues.
