When you hear the word Reggaeton, right away a certain stereotype comes to mind based on how the industry has portrayed this rising genre. It’s been referred to as urban or hurbano, ignorantly putting Hispanics into one label and titling it Latin Hip Hop. To set the story straight, all Latinos are NOT the same. There are over 184 dialects under the word Hispanic. While Reggaeton takes influences from Hip Hop, it would be wrong to define Reggaeton as the Hispanic or Latino version of this genre.
