In a crowded ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A., ASCAP named Timbaland songwriter of the year on Monday (June 23).According to reports, Tim received the honor due to his work on Omarion’s “Ice Box,” Fabulous and Ne-Yo’s “Make Me Better,” and Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” and “Until The End Of Time.”
The event, hosted by Grammy-winning songwriter Johnta Austin, also named Robin Thicke’s “Lost Without You” as the R&B song of the year and MIMS’ “This Is Why I’m Hot” as the ring tone of the year.
Shawty Lo, The Dream, J. Holiday, Raheem DeVaughn, and Flo Rida also blessed the attendees with performances.
As previously reported in other Timbaland news, the super producer/songwriter recently tied the knot with his long time girlfriend. The two were originally wed by their pastor before taking a trip to Aruba for an official ceremony.
